Ronald DeFeo Jr. was the man who shot and killed six members of his family in their home. During his trial, he claimed to be influenced by the voice of a spirit that instructed him to commit this heinous act. This aspect of the story was presented as evidence of a possible supernatural influence.

In December 1975, new homeowners George and Kathy Lutz experienced unexplained phenomena and paranormal events in the same house. They claimed to have heard mysterious sounds, seen shadows, experienced feelings of fear, and even asserted. That they witnessed a ghostly apparition reminiscent of an otherworldly presence. The family alleged that they were harassed by paranormal occurrences to the extent that they decided to leave the house after only 28 days, never to return.

The entire Amityville Ghost Case story became the subject of the book “The Amityville Horror,” written by Jay Anson in 1977. Which quickly became a bestseller and was later adapted into several film versions. These media presentations solidified the house’s reputation as a site plagued by supernatural entities.

However, doubts about the veracity of the story have arisen since then. Some argue that the Lutzes fabricated the tale for attention and financial gain. There are no concrete pieces of evidence that definitively confirm or debunk the existence of ghosts in the Amityville house.

The Amityville Ghost Case remains one of the most prominent examples in the realm of paranormal phenomena and supernatural events, continuing to exert its polarizing influence on the public. It is a story that reminds us that the mysteries of the paranormal world can remain unresolved even after many years.
